Growing Older Staying Strong

The Growing Older Staying Strong Initiative through CSKT Tribal Health offers low-impact activity programs designed to increase movement, function and overall well-being, especially among older adults (50+) and individuals living with chronic disease, pain, or mobility issues.

We offer a rotating schedule of group classes with trained leaders, and we invite you to join us!

  • Our Walking Journey: Based on the Walk With Ease evidence-based group walking program to reduce pain and improve mental and physical wellbeing. Regular walking can improve cardiovascular health, reduce risk factors for diabetes, improve sleep and mood, and help balance weight. This class is facilitated by a trained leader, and meets 2-3 times per week for group walking, and is indoor or outdoors, depending on the season and weather. Come join us on Our Walking Journey!
  • Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL): An established, evidence-based program to improve strength and mobility, especially among older adults. This program is delivered indoors, and participation can be from a standing position, or from a seated position on a chair. This is a great way to build or maintain strength and lower your risk for injury or falls, in a supportive, fun atmosphere.
